Hull to grab a point

Hull are on a horrible run of form with no wins from their last nine games and, on paper, the visit of Blackpool won't be wanted given the Tigers haven't beaten them since 2004. Despite that we still fancy Hull to get something out of this game. The fact of the matter is that Hull have now lost three on the spin compared to Blackpool that have won three in four. A point for Hull will break the rot of losses whilst Blackpool will see it as an away point over a team that they'll be battling with to stay up. The good news for Hull is they can take inspiration from Blackpool; it wasn't so long ago that the Tangerines were on a run of four defeats and a draw; things can change quickly in football.

Don't expect the goals to rain down

Next up in our tips is a bet that backs there to be fewer than 2.5 goals in this match. Hull's last five games have seen just one fixture go over the 2.5 mark. Blackpool have seen three of five go over but it's the game averages that really help up make our minds up. Hull's average total goals in those five games is 1.6 with Blackpool sitting at an average of 2.2. The fact this fixture last season ended under 2.5 goals is further evidence of what we might see.

Predicting a 1-1

We've just touched on this fixture last year and, strangely enough, that ended in the same score line as our prediction, 1-1. It's not the main reason behind our tip though. Blackpool have been in better form of late in terms of results but they've hardly been hitting teams for six. They've only scored 12 goals across their last 10 games. With Hull even more goal shy (they've scored six in 10) it won't be a classic by any stretch but we do see Hull finding a way to put the ball in the net.

Hull vs Blackpool: Match Preview

If you've read through our betting picks you'll know full well that Hull are in awful form; that's particularly true in front of goal with just one scored in their last five. With attack minded midfielder George Honeyman set to miss the next two games Grant McCann will need to look elsewhere in his squad for that spark. Blackpool meanwhile will be delighted with their recent form. With Demetri Mitchell back in contention and Grant Ward close to a return their injury worries are easing too.
