Hull to lose again
In our intro we mentioned that Hull don't have a great record against Huddersfield and, sorry Hull fans, we don't see it changing here. Hull last best Huddersfield six years ago and have lost two and drawn one of the three meetings since. It's not all about head to head records though; Huddersfield are in better form right now as well. The Terriers have taken nine points from their last 12 at home. By comparison Hull have taken just one from 12 on the road. Even with the fact Hull come into this off the back of a good home result, we just can't see past a Huddersfield win.
A low scoring match awaits
Our next prediction backs this game to fall short of 2.5 goals. Huddersfield have come in under 2.5 goals in three of their last five matches. During that time they've seen a total of 11 goals; that's an average of just 2.2 goals per match. Hull have fallen short of the 2.5 mark in four of their last five including their last three. Their game average washes out slightly higher than their hosts but at 2.4 goals but it's still where we'd want it to be for this bet. All of that points to value at under 2.5.
We've already explained why we fancy Huddersfield to win and why we expect the match to be low scoring. This bet gives us more room to work with too; Huddersfield can draw the game and we could see a three goals and still win. The only part to address is that we need Hull to blank in the first half. Thankfully, that's really, really easy to back up. They've scored just one first half goal all season – it came on the opening day!

Huddersfield vs Hull: Toothless Tigers to lose again
Huddersfield are within sniffing distance of the playoff spots ahead of kick off. There is just one point between them and sixth place QPR. The goals aren't exactly raining down though and that is an area they need to address. Danny Ward did bag a brace in his last home game though so he'll be hoping to repeat that here. Goals are also the big problem at Hull albeit they need to start scoring them to have any chance of staying up as opposed to going up. Keane Lewis-Potter is the only Tigers player with more than a solitary strike to his name; he's scored two.
