It will end level
We are going to sit on the fence with our first Huddersfield vs Preston prediction. Both sides lost their games on Saturday but it's important to note that, before that, both were in reasonably good form with both sides having taken seven points from their last 15 available having recorded two wins and a draw from their respective last five games. When you drill into their home and away form, things look broadly similar with neither performing terribly; Huddersfield have won two on the bounce and have lost just two of their past five when at home. Preston meanwhile have only lost one of their last five away games drawing two and winning two. To further evidence why a draw prediction looks wise we can look to the head to head; in the last three meetings we've seen a Huddersfield win, a Preston win and a draw.
Goals will be in short supply
Our next tip for this game comes from the total goals market and we are confidently plumping for under 2.5 goals. Huddersfield have seen three of their last four home games go south of that 2.5 threshold whilst averaging just 1.8 goals per game. Preston, the Championship side with the lowest goals per game ratio, have seen three of their past five away days go under 2.5 goals. Their average in that time comes in at, like the hosts here, 1.8 per match. Two of the last three head to head meetings have also gone south of the 2.5 goal mark.

Can Huddersfield show fight to escape the drop zone?
In the Championship standings, these two sides are separated by eight points with Preston faring considerably better than second bottom Huddersfield. In more recent times though, there is literally nothing between them with the pair both in mid table in the five game form table. With that considered this should be a tough fought encounter – even if it might not be a classic.
Huddersfield will be buoyed by their recent home form and with Danny Ward seemingly finding form they'll be confident of extending that run. Patrick Jones could be back in contention too.
Huddersfield Predicted lineup – Nicholls, Lees, Helik, Nakayama, Jackson, Thomas, Camara, Kasumu, Holmes, Rhodes, Ward
Preston will be missing Troy Parrott in this match but aside from that they have a clean bill of health. That means Emil Riis, the clubs top scorer this season, will be leading the line. Will he deliver the goods?
Preston Predicted lineup – Woodman, Storey, Diaby, Hughes, Browne, Fernandez, McCann, Whiteman, Brady, Riis, Maguire
