Going into the difficult Christmas period, Arsenal are just outside the Champions League positions and are looking to close the gap on their top six opponents.

While major doubts still exist over the future of Mesut Özil and Alexis Sánchez, fans can also see issues with the defence and the midfield.

Granit Xhaka hasn’t delivered since his big-money move from Borussia Mönchengladbach and doubts remain over Aaron Ramsey or Jack Wilshere’s ability to take the Gunners to the next level.

Linked with a move to the Emirates in January, Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi remains an Arsenal transfer target. And after a high-profile falling out with Eduardo Berizzo, the French star is set to leave the La Liga club if his buy-out clause is met next month.

N'Zonzi was an unknown quantity when he moved to Lancashire in 2009, but even after a £4million move to the Potters, the midfielder is a much stronger, intelligent and interesting player than the one who moved to La Liga in 2015.

He has played 108 times for the Andalusian side, and although he has only scored seven goals and picked up five assists, it's his all-round game which would appeal to Arsène Wenger in January.

But where would the former Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers man fit and how could Arsenal line-up with N'Zonzi? We explain all in the below video.
