Lisandro Martinez has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his knee which is likely to rule him out for the calendar year. Apart from the Argentine, the Mancunians don't have a reliable defender capable of playing on the left-hand side of their defence. Guehi has impressed in that area for Palace and England. As such, he would be a very good replacement for the injury-prone Martinez.
