Some players are not only blessed with remarkable talent which takes them to the heights of the Premier League, but are able to hang up their boots at the end of their career with trophies and medals to show for their hard work.

Take some of Sir Alex Ferguson's stalwarts at Manchester United, for instance. Ryan Giggs ended his career with 13 Premier League winners' medals, Paul Scholes had 11, while Gary Neville had eight to his name.

John Terry will be happy with his career's work, too, having captained Chelsea to five titles, while Ashley Cole won three during his time at the Blues and Arsenal.

However, some players, despite being responsible for some of the Premier League's most memorable moments, are not so lucky.

Some players dream to achieve that ultimate ambition of hoisting the Premier League trophy aloft, yet it never comes.

Footballers who came close but never won it have particular reason to feel aggrieved, especially when the list of winners includes names like Ronnie Wallwork, Stefan Savić and Alexander Büttner, with all due respect.

Football Whispers has decided to put together the best team to have never won the Premier League. Set-up in an attacking 3-4-3 formation, you'll find there are some of the finest players to have ever graced these shores in there.

Many have won league titles elsewhere, some have won Champions Leagues. A few have even won a World Cup. But not the Premier League.
