According to Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato, Gleison Bremer to Man Utd could be on in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils are reportedly battling it out with La Liga giants Atletico Madrid for his signature, and have been in the stands many times to watch him play for Juventus.
They are willing to offer the Old Lady €50m (£43m) for his signature, and are willing to pay Bremer up to €10m (£8.6m) a year to move to Old Trafford.
Gleison Bremer to Man Utd: The right move?
Juventus want closer to €70m (£60m) for Bremer, and it is not clear whether Man Utd would be willing to go that high. However, they need to roll the dice again, or potentially face another decade without the Premier League trophy coming home.
Man Utd have had major problems at the back this season, with Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans all facing lengthy spells out injured at different points in the campaign.
The likes of Casemiro have had to fill in at the centre of defence, and the Brazilian is clearly struggling at the moment, enduring harsh criticism for his horror performance in Man Utd's 4-0 drubbing against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday night.
Numbers paint a stark picture
Further illustrating their defensive problems, United have conceded a total of 55 goals in the Premier League, which is nearly twice as many as league leaders and Sunday afternoon's opponents Arsenal (28). Their expected goals (xG) conceded since the turn of the year is also the second-worst in the division.
With United also facing more shots per game on average then any other team, Bremer's far superior stats could well help them do that. No Juventus player has won more aerial duels (2.8) or made more clearances (4.1) or blocks (0.8) per game in Serie A than he has this season, while his three goals also show he is a threat from set pieces.
More importantly, Bremer is also durable, having made the joint-most league appearances in the Juve squad with 34. His good record of availability would thus be a major boost for Man Utd. At 27 years of age, the Brazilian is in the prime of his career too, making this a no brainer – but for the heavy fee demanded.
