Galatasaray vs Kisvarda Lineups, Team News, and Preview

Galatasaray

There are a lot of changes that are coming to Galatasaray this summer and the new era has already begun. The Istanbul club is searching for reinforcements to get them over the top and make the team competitive in the Champions League. The big difference between this past season and the one that is about to start is the departure of a long-serving striker Bafetimbi Gomis whose contract expired. Galatasaray is searching for a younger option up front. Juan Mata left for the same reason while Mostafa Mohamed was sold to Nantes. The only player that has arrived thus far is defender Kaan Ayhan who was brought in from Sassuolo. Lucas Torreira is injured and won't be available for the match.

Predicted lineup: Sen, Nelsson, Bardakci, Ayhan, Ross, Karnucu, Midtsjo, Akman, Babacan, Aydin, Demir.

Kisvarda

The Hungarian team finished sixth this past season which was a significant downgrade from their previous season. The club's management has already started rebuilding the squad as players were coming in for all the available positions on the field. Strikers Norbert Balogh and Adam Czekus should bring some stability to the attack while there is also a new goalkeeper Marcell Kovacs who was signed from the Ferencvaros' second team on a free transfer. There are 28 players in the squad and some of them will be moved to the reserve team as the squad is going to be finalized for the start of the season at the month's end.

Predicted lineup: Petkovic, Jovicic, Kovacic, Szeles, Kormendi, Rubus, Melnyk, Szor, Otvos, Czerna, Czekus.

Player to Watch: Yusuf Demir

One of the most exciting players on Galatasaray's roster is Yusuf Demir whose ascension within the squad is well known. He was born and raised in Austria where he played for Austria's U21 team scoring a couple of goals in 12 matches. He started his career at Rapid Vienna and was loaned to Barcelona two years ago before returning. Finally, Galatasaray bought him last summer while looking to get him some minutes on occasion.

He scored eleven goals in 57 matches for Rapid, but his Galatasaray career is just starting. Last season he played in only six games, however, this time around it is widely expected that Demir will get significant minutes, especially with all the competitions that his team is involved in this term.

Starting lineups

Starting lineups are usually released 60 minutes before kick-off.
