Fukuoka vs Gamba Osaka Preview:
This looks to be a cagey match on Saturday morning, so let's take a better look at the teams ahead of their game:
Fukuoka
With Fukuoka struggling to score in recent weeks, it comes as no surprise that their J League top goalscorer is their main striker. Yuya Yamagishi has scored six goals while leading the line for his club, although he hasn't found the back of the net in four matches to date.
However, when he has scored, he's usually followed up in the next match, scoring consecutively on three occasions this season. He's fit and ready and will be hoping to break his mini drought against Gamba Osaka on Saturday.
Masaaki Murakami kept two clean sheets at home on the bounce in the J League, and despite sitting out of the cup matches, is expected to return to the line up.
Fukuoka Predicted Lineup:
Murakami – Maejima, Grolli, Nara, Oda – Konno, Shigemi, Mae, Lukian – Sato, Yamagishi
Gamba Osaka
Gamba Osaka are enduring a difficult campaign, sitting bottom of the J League with just 10 points after 15 matches. However, despite not winning in seven J League matches in a row, which included six defeats, Gamba Osaka bounced back to winning ways with a tremendous performance against Albirex Niigata last time out. Goals have been hard to come by this season but putting three past Albirex Niigata will definitely have filled the team with plenty of confidence.
Midfielder Shu Kurata has been in and out of the starting XI but after scoring last time out, looks set to keep his place on Saturday.
Gamba Osaka Predicted Lineup:
Higashiguchi – Kurokawa, Sato, Fukuoka, Handa – Lavi, Ishige, Yamamoto – Kurata, Jebali, Juan Alano
