Quiche Sanchez Flores was perhaps unlucky to be dismissed as Watford manager at the end of last season, after guiding the club to a 13th place finish after returning to the top flight.
With this in mind, it's unlikely that the club's hierarchy are happy with their current position of 14th, with pressure building on Walter Mazzarri after spending over £57million in the summer.
We spoke with The Rookery End about who the Italian can sign in order to make sure this season is as comfortable as last term.
Please note that this interview was conducted before the January transfer window opened.
Thoughts on Summer Activity:
In the Pozzo era, this summer was very successful as key players were added to the Premier League squad we had last season — just a few too many injuries to the new boys!
Again they signed younger players who haven't featured as much as we had expected, [Abdoulaye] Docoure being the most prominent.
Area that Needs Improvement:
After what might be a season ending injury to [Roberto] Pererya, we will need someone creative to sit behind the front two plus another left-sided midfielder. Another striker would give us some wonderful problems in team selection, too.
David Silva, that player who seems a luxury in midfield, who creates so much and seems to be everywhere.
It will be someone we've hardly heard of, someone you half recognise when you hear their name — the Pozzo's don't sign players everyone knows. Who really knew much about [Nordin] Amrabat 12 months ago?
Prediction for Rest of 2016-17:
We just want a decent second half of the season. Mirroring what has come so far will be perfect!
