Radja Nainggolan’s move to Inter was the best thing to happen to Roma. As well being compensated financially for the loss of the Belgian midfielder, the Serie A club gained Nicoló Zaniolo.
The wonderkid was a goalscoring sensation for the Inter's Primavera side and was supposedly the next big star at San Siro. But, somehow, Monchi struck a deal which saw Zaniolo included in the deal to sell Nainggolan.
Luciano Spalletti and the recruitment team at San Siro will be regretting that decision. Zaniolo has been one of the breakout stars for the Giallorossi this season. He’s scored vital goals, including strikes against Porto in the Champions League, and threatened to be the man to finally replace Francesco Totti as the heir of Rome.
But his performances haven’t gone unnoticed. Europe’s elite are courting the Italy international and Roma are believed to want in the region of €90million for their teenage star.
Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid have all been linked and Spurs are the latest team to show an interest in the 19-year-old.
Is he worth the hype?
