The Europa League group stages come to a close this midweek with five top spots still up for grabs and yet to be determined which could see both West Ham and Rangers finish as winners, although the latter will be up against it out in Spain.
With just one round of fixtures left, we are set to dive into the group winner markets and see which teams have the best chances of topping the rest of their opponents.
Europa League group stage winners prediction
Group A: West Ham – 1/6
The Hammers are the overwhelming favourites heading into their final game of Group A and it's mainly down to the fact they have a home fixture to navigate, while also boasting a better head-to-head record against second-place Freiburg. Therefore, as long as West Ham don't lose to their German opponents then they will be crowned Group A winners.
West Ham have been near perfect in the Europa League this season having made the step up from the Europa Conference league they won last season, with David Moyes' men having won four of their five games thus far, with their only defeat coming away to Olympiakos who created an intimidating atmosphere, to say the least.
Group B: Brighton – 13/20
Group B is certainly one of the more interesting and intriguing ones in the Europa League with just one point separating Brighton and Marseille heading into the final round of games with the Seagulls hosting the French giants on Thursday knowing they need a win to finish top of their respective group.
Brighton drew 2-2 away to Marseille earlier in the season but since then have won three games, scored five and conceded just one becoming accustomed to European football very quickly and should see them have enough to come out on top against Marseille.
Group C: Real Betis – 2/9
Rangers will likely fall just short of topping Group C with them having to win away at Real Betis on Thursday and this is because they have lost and drawn their other two away fixtures in the Europa League this campaign.
The Gers are still an interesting price to top the group at 3/1, but despite beating Betis in Glasgow in matchweek one, Rangers will likely rue their two draws against Sparta Prague and at home to Aris Limassol because turning just one of those into a victory would have them in pole position to finish first, but instead, Betis know a draw will mean they avoid the Europa League play-offs in 2024.
Group F: Villarreal – 11/10
For the first time in this prediction, we believe the favourite will not finish top of their group. Villarreal currently sit second in Group F behind Rennes who are two points ahead of the Spanish giants, although they do face off on Thursday in a winner-takes-all encounter.
Villarreal have to travel to France but we don't see that being an issue given they've not lost since week one in this competition and have tasted defeat just once in their last seven games across all competitions and this came against Atletico Madrid, so there could be an upset on the cards this Thursday.
Group G: Slavia Prague – 1/10
This is certainly an upset because unless a major shock occurs on Thursday, Roam will be pipped to top spot in the Europa League by Slavia Prague. There was nothing to separate the two sides as they beat each other in their respective home games, but then in the last round of fixtures, the Italian giants drew away to Servette handing Slavia Prague the advantage.
Barring a major swing in goal difference, then a draw would be good enough to secure top spot for Slavia Prague, but with Roma being upset by Servette last time out, betting on the Italian side to finish top of the group at 6/1 is not something to be ignored.
