Euro 2024 playoff finals betting – Anytime goalscorer doubles
La Liga: Artem Dovbyk (Ukraine) & Robert Lewandowski (Poland) – (6/1)
We start in La Liga with two of the leading candidates to win the prestigious Pichichi Trophy in Spain.
Robert Lewandowski is surely the biggest name of any player involved in Euro 2024 qualifying action this week. The veteran striker has been the focal point of this Polish side for a decade and a half and that burden has weighed heavy on him at times. At 35, the Barcelona man is not going to get many, if any, more opportunities to play at a major tournament so he won’t be lacking motivation in Cardiff on Tuesday.
Surprisingly, he wasn’t on target in the 5-1 thrashing of Estonia in the semi-final, but he has been in good form in Spain, scoring seven in his last nine appearances for Barca.
Artem Dovbyk meanwhile is perhaps the outstanding candidate in the goalscorer markets across the three Euro 2024 playoff finals. He’s usually the focal point of the attack for a Ukraine side that is considered strong favourites to beat Iceland and he’s fresh from scoring a vital 88th minute winner in Bosnia in the last round.
Dovbyk has also been prolific for surprise package Girona in La Liga this season, scoring 14 times at a rate of one every 131 minutes.
Premier League: Mykhailo Mudryk (Ukraine) & Brennan Johnson (Wales) – (15/1)
The Premier League will also be well represented across the three games and again there are strong anytime goalscorer options from the games being played in Cardiff and Wroclaw which will act as the home for Ukraine against Iceland.
Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk has divided opinion amongst fans in England since making a big money move to the Premier League but some of his recent performances have been more encouraging. He’s netted in two of his last four appearances for the Blues which should enable him to take a bit more confidence into this tie.
Across London, Brennan Johnson has also been in pretty good form for Tottenham. The 22 year old has scored in three of his last seven Premier League games as Spurs continue to push for a top four finish. He was also on target as Wales cruised to a 4-1 semi-final win over Finland and it feels like his moment has arrived to step up and be a leader for Rob Page’s side in the post-Bale era.
Serie A: Albert Gudmundsson (Iceland) & Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (Georgia) – (20/1)
There are also some exciting attacking players from Serie A on display in the playoff finals, with Georgia’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia the star of the show as far as Italian top flight involvement is concerned.
The 23 year old truly announced his arrival as an elite level performer last season with an outstanding campaign as Napoli ran away with the Serie A title. While his team has been much less impressive this term, Kvaratskhelia can’t be faulted with 10 goals so far in the league, leaving him just two shy of his 12 goal tally last term. He’s also got a brilliant goal return for his country with 15 in 28 international appearances so far.
The star of the semi-finals last week was also a Serie A player with Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson firing in a hat-trick as Iceland stunned Israel 4-1 in Budapest. It’s a big ask for Iceland to also defeat a strong Ukraine side but don’t rule out another goal for Gudmundsson who averages a goal every 240 minutes in Serie A this term, having recently reached double figures.
