FW Predictions for Ecuador vs Senegal

Both Ecuador and Senegal will be hopeful of their chances of finishing as runners-up at the very least in Group A and their fate could go all the way down to their final game against one another on Tuesday. We're expecting this game to be tight and tense, even more so if both teams are still in the race for a top-two finish in Group A.

BTTS – No

Ecuador and Senegal have never played one another before but both teams pride themselves on being strong at the back and economical in front of goal and with that in mind, we're backing a ‘Both Teams to Score – No' bet. So far in September, Ecuador haven't conceded a single goal in any of their three international friendlies against Saudi Arabia, Cape Verde and Mexico, two of which ended in goalless draws and one produced a 1-0 victory. As things stand, Senegal have played twice in September, losing 1-0 away at Guinea and winning 2-0 in Bolivia.

Under 2.5 Goals

In what should be a tight, tense and competitive 90-minutes, We're backing under 2.5 goals to be scored, or not scored as the case maybe, when Ecuador and Senegal go head-to-head on Tuesday. As of the 26th of September, each of Ecuador's last five matches have produced under 2.5 goals while four of Senegal's last six outings in all competitions have also witnessed fewer than three goals scored.

Ecuador and Senegal go head-to-head in the final round of group games

Ecuador

The last time Ecuador qualified for the World Cup, back in 2014, they were drawn against France, Switzerland and Honduras in Group E, finishing in third place. Ecuador gave a good account of themselves, losing narrowly 2-1 against Switzerland, before beating Honduras by the same scoreline and then drawing 0-0 with France but it wasn't enough to earn them a top-two finish. Veteran goalkeeper Alexander Dominguez looks set to get the nod between the sticks in Qatar with fellow 35-year-old Hernan Galindez his understudy. The big issue for Ecuador will be goals. Enner Valencia is by far their best option up front netting 35-goals in 73-caps, as of 26th of September, but is he gets injured Estrada and Reasco would have to step in and they have netted 8-goals in 37-caps between them.

Senegal

There is a strong Premier League contingent in the Segenal side from the defence, Chelsea's Koulibaly, through the midfield, Everton's Gueye, Leicester's Mendy, Nottingham Forest's Kouyate, and Tottenham's Sarr. Up-front, Sadio mane might not play for Liverpool anymore but he has bags of experience at the very highest level, while Ismaila Sarr might be back in the Championship with Watford but will surely make a return to the top flight one way or another next season.
