David Raya next club: Latest transfer odds for goalkeeper

Which side is likely to be the ‘David Raya next club'? In this article, we answer that question.

As we are in the midst of a rather hectic transfer period, rumors surrounding certain players are rife at the moment.

Of course, some rumors have more substance than others, however, which brings me to the point of Raya’s next club. The Brentford goalkeeper is approaching the end of his four-year deal at the club, and it seems he isn’t overly keen on signing another one.

As a result, numerous clubs have swooped in to either open contract negotiations or supply an outright bid. And with all of this action taking place, the bookies have jumped on board by offering the latest odds on Raya’s next club.

David Raya next club odds

  • Arsenal @ 4/7
  • Bayern Munich @ 7/4
  • Aston Villa @ 11/1
  • Tottenham @ 16/1
  • Chelsea @ 18/1

Arsenal @ 4/7 (1.57) Odds

The reason that Arsenal are out in front as the favorites to sign the Spanish goalkeeper is that they are officially in talks with Brentford and Raya. Additionally, Arsenal have made a bid for David Raya in the past, although this was back in the Summer transfer window of 2020. Nevertheless, it shows that Arsenal sees Raya as a valuable asset for the club, which is why the Raya Arsenal transfer could materialize.

Yet at an estimated value of £40 million, as determined by Brentford, Arsenal will need to dig into their pockets to snag him.

Bayern Munich @ 7/4 (2.75) Odds

Within the last seven days, the German powerhouses, Bayern Munich, have also approached Brentford with the goal of signing David Raya. Of course, this has shortened the odds of Bayern Munich becoming Raya’s next club quite significantly. And when you compare the odds for Arsenal and Bayern Munich compared to the other teams, it’s fair to say that this is a two-horse race for the moment.

Additionally, Raya would seem like a perfect replacement for the aging Manuel Neuer. After all, he is 37 years of age, so he can’t really be at a club like Bayern Munich much longer.

Aston Villa @ 11/1 (12.00) Odds

Brentford’s Premier League rivals, Aston Villa, are also in the running to become David Raya’s next club, as per the latest odds. As you can see, the odds might be far longer than they are for Arsenal and Bayern Munich, but at 11/1, Aston Villa are the third favorites to sign him. For starters, Aston Villa has lost two of their goalkeepers during this transfer period. One has exited the club as a free agent, and the other has been sent out on loan.

Therefore, they are looking a little dry when it comes to talented goalkeepers, although they still have Martinez, and it doesn’t look like he’s going anywhere, for now.

Tottenham @ 16/1 (17.00) Odds

With Hugo Lloris now at 36 years of age, he obviously won’t be in the ranks as one of Tottenham’s top goalkeepers for much longer. The club knows this, which is why they’ve signed Vicario from FC Empoli this Summer as a direct replacement for Lloris. However, much like Aston Villa, Tottenham doesn’t have much depth in the ranks for goalkeepers. And at the moment, if their number one goalkeeper isn’t able to play, they are struggling to stump up a keeper of Premier League quality.

Chelsea @ 18/1 (19.00) Odds

In my humble opinion, I believe that Chelsea should be further up this list due to the current goalkeepers they have at the club. For the moment, their best goalkeeper is Kepa Arrizabalaga. He is okay, but he’s certainly not one of the best in the league. As for why Chelsea is one of the top five prospects to be Raya’s next club, this comes from rumors of ‘internal discussions’ about signing David Raya. Additionally, Chelsea has offloaded a bunch of top players this Summer, so they certainly have the budget for a move like this one.
