Celtic vs Wolves Lineups, Team News, and Match Preview
Celtic
The biggest news regarding Celtic this summer is the return of Brendan Rodgers as the manager. He left a few years ago to coach Leicester City but was let go last season when the team was failing to keep afloat in the Premier League and was eventually relegated. Rodgers's comeback wasn't met with approval from a vast number of Celtic fans. There are a few new names in the Scottish champions' locker room. Odin Thiago Holm, Hyun-jun Yang, Marco Tilio, Tomoki Iwata, and Hyeok-kyu Kwon are some of the new additions. The biggest departure is the one of winger Jota who joined Al-Ittihad from Saudi Arabia. Alistair Johnston and Albian Ajeti are injured at the moment.
Provisional lineup: Hart, Starfelt, Kobayashi, Taylor, Ralston, Iwata, Kwon, McGregor, Turnbull, Tilio, Furuhashi.
Wolves
Just like their opponent on this day, the Wolves have also done business with a Saudi Arabia club. From their position, it was Al-Hilal who made a splash with the signing of Ruben Neves. There were some changes in the Wolves' team this summer, beside Neves, there were other players who left like Nathan Collins, Conor Coady, Adama Traore, and Ki-Jana Hoever. Manager Julen Lopetegui is hopeful that there will be some important signings before the transfer window shuts as the team lacks some creativity in the midfield. However, the Spanish coach is feeling good after his team defeated Porto in their latest preseason match.
Provisional lineup: Sa, Kilman, Dawson, Otto, Doherty, Traore, Hodge, Jordao, Guedes, Neto, Silva.
Player to Watch: Kyogo Furuhashi
It has been two years since the Japanese forward Kyogo Furuhashi joined Celtic and during that time he has become a fan favorite. Scoring 54 goals in 83 matches will do that for most players and Japan's attacker it was all that important to make an immediate impression.
Furuhashi is not new to scoring goals, he did just that with ease while playing for Vissel Kobe where he netted 49 goals in 111 games. His first club was Gifu, a team in Japan that plays in a lower division and that was a time when Furuhashi proved himself and managed to make sure he gets a deal to join Kobe. He was capped by Japan's national team 18 times scoring four goals.
Starting lineups
