Carlisle
Carlisle are yet to record a league win after their promotion last spring. On Tuesday a valiant effort nearly brought the first success but instead, Carlisle had to settle for their second consecutive 1-1 home draw of the campaign. They dominated against Wigan but the new striker Maguire showed wastefulness in front of goal.
The gaffer is likely to refresh the lineup due to the quick turnaround. After being an unused sub in midweek the wing-back Back should start again now. Star midfielder McGeough could be involved too after injury. He won’t be ready to start though and might need a bit more time.
Carlisle Predicted Lineup:
Holy (GK), Lavelle, Huntingdon, Mellish, Back, Gibson, Guy, Moxon, Armer, Edmondson & Maguire
Exeter
The Grecians suffered their first defeat of the campaign on Tuesday. They were edged 0-1 away vs Portsmouth. The display was way too passive and never looked like scoring.
Both Reece Cole and Sam Nombe were dropped to the bench in midweek but they should start again now. James Scott is likely to sit on the bench though as he has a very disappointing showing on Tuesday.
The important centre-back Diabate still lacks fitness after a long spell out. He is not expected to travel the long distance for this game. Also, light on options in midfield where both Kite and Billington are missing due to serious injuries.
Exeter Predicted Lineup:
Sinisalo (GK), Sweeney, Aimson, Hartridge, Rankine, Cole, Trevitt, Carroll, Mitchell, Aitchison & Nombe
Starting Lineups
The teams usually announce their starting lineups one hour before the start of the game.
Player to Watch: Sean Maguire
Carlisle signed striker Sean Maguire to be their new main man up front. Maguire was wasteful with his chances on his debut in midweek. However, he was getting on the end of some very good team moves often and we think with a few more days of training Maguire could show much better finishing this weekend.
