Burnley and Chelsea meet in the Premier League this Saturday. It’s a 15:00 kick-off at Turf Moor. Both sides have made slow starts to the season overall but are looking to build on their respective victories earlier this week.

Burnley vs Chelsea H2H Record
There have been 104 meetings between the clubs.
- Burnley Wins: 37
- Draws: 26
- Chelsea Wins: 41
Burnley had the historical edge in this fixture which dates back to an FA Cup tie in the 1905/06 season. However during the Premier League era, Chelsea have been the much more dominant force and have moved ahead in the overall Burnley vs Chelsea H2H.
Indeed the Blues are unbeaten in 9 Premier League outings against Burnley, winning 7 of them. Burnley’s last win was by a 3-2 margin at Stamford Bridge in the 2017/18 season. Not one member of the Chelsea XI from that day remains at the club though with N’Golo Kante the last to leave this summer.

Last time out…
Chelsea made it 9 games unbeaten against Burnley in the Premier League with a 4-0 win at Turf Moor in March 2022. Kai Havertz scored twice on one of his best days in blue while recent Milan signing Christian Pulisic was also on target.
The Chelsea win was largely overshadowed though by the news that Roman Abramovich was set to relinquish control of the club in the face of UK government sanctions. They would still end up in 3rd place under Thomas Tuchel while Burnley went on to suffer relegation.

Burnley vs Chelsea H2H: Potential MVP
Chelsea got a much needed win on Monday night as they won the West London derby at Fulham. One of their star players was Levi Colwill who provided an assist for Mykhailo Mudryk and put in another assured defensive showing.
Colwill is a centre-back by trade but he’s doing a solid job in filling in at left-back for the injured Ben Chilwell. Mauricio Pochettino is clearly a big fan having started the 20 year old in all 7 of his team’s Premier League games this season.
"He's got a real maturity about his game. We're very hopeful for his future" 🙌

International recognition will soon follow. Colwill is in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming internationals against Australia and Italy and stands a good chance of making his debut for the Three Lions.
In this match, he’ll likely be up against the likes of Connor Roberts and Luca Koleosho who will attack down Burnley’s right flank.

Burnley: Players in focus
Lyle Foster at home on the big stage
The 23 year old is one of the big positives for Burnley so far this season. He’s netted 3 times already and looks like he belongs on the Premier League stage.
Berge to sink the Blues again?
Sander Berge was involved in the Sheffield United side that beat Chelsea 3-0 in 2020 and he also provided an assist in his only other meeting with the Blues.
Can Beyer lead a defensive revival?
Burnley have the second worst defensive record in the Premier League and they’ll be looking for key centre-back Jordan Beyer to lead an improvement at the back.

Chelsea: Players in focus
Mudryk keen to build on first goal
January signing Mykhailo Mudryk finally opened his Chelsea account in the win at Fulham and will be hoping it marks a change in his fortunes. He’ll need to shake off a knock to feature here.
Palmer to play again?
Cole Palmer was a starter for the first time in a Chelsea shirt at Fulham and will be hoping to cement himself in this team now.
Sanchez targets first clean sheet against the Clarets
Robert Sanchez is yet to shut out Burnley in his career with 1 win, 1 draw and 1 defeat against this opposition during his time at Brighton.

Final Prediction
Both teams have recorded confidence boosting wins over the past week but both have also shown flaws this season which makes this an interesting contest.
Burnley have been a bit more pragmatic in recent games after their high risk football brought few rewards in the opening weeks and they should provide a real test for what is still an injury-ravaged Chelsea here.
We’re saying this will end 1-1 with Lyle Foster to score first.
