Blow for Liverpool and United as Bayern grow closer to extending Musiala’s contract

Bayern Munich are becoming increasingly confident that they will be able to tie down youngster Jamal Musiala on a long-term contract, according to The 17-year-old has been rated as one of the highly promising talents in the Bayern side. He was prized from the Chelsea academy in 2019. Since then, he has gone on to feature for the Bayern Munich senior team. This season, he has made 13 appearances in the Bundesliga and these have produced three goals. Yet, Musiala’s contract runs out in the summer of 2022 and Premier League giants like Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly keen on bringing the player back to the English top flight.

After weeks of negotiations in which the German outfit even offered Musiala a contract worth around £100,000 per week, there appears to be progress, according to The exorbitant wage demands of the 17-year-old had been a stumbling block, but it seems that progress has been made as Bayern Munich are ready to match the demands.

This would be a major blow to the likes of United and Liverpool. His exploits with Bayern have not gone unnoticed back in his homeland, as Musiala already been called up for various stages of the England youth setup. Even though he has yet to be called up for the senior team, this may not be in the distant future.

Musiala will be turning 18 years of age next month. Bayern Munich are hopeful that a new contract will be agreed and signed before the next birthday.

The teenage midfielder has seen an astronomic rise in his market value. If he manages to agree a new contract with Bayern Munich, he could become one of the well-paid teenagers in world football. The trust and faith shown by Bayern’s hierarchy has been a key factor behind the two parties making positive movements with regards to signing a new contract.
