We start our predictions for this game by sitting on the fence as we call a draw. Stoke, as we've touched on already, are winless in four games but Blackburn aren't exactly ripping things up either ; they've lost each of their last two league games by three goals to nil. On top of recent form not exactly offering up a winner, the head to head record between these two paints a picture that doesn't have much in it. None of the last eight meetings have been settled by more than the odd goal – that takes us back to February 2015! We foresee another closely fought battle here.
We don't see both teams scoring
Our second Blackburn vs Stoke prediction is that at least one of the two sides will fail to score in the match. Blackburn have blanked in each of their last two league games and kept one clean sheet in their last five meaning just 40% of their last five games have seen both teams score. Stoke meanwhile have a similar record with three of their last five matches seeing at least one side blank. As for the head to head, four of the past five meetings have ended with someone keeping a clean sheet!

Here we have two teams that can't buy a win
Blackburn had started the season in spectacular fashion with new manager John Dahl Tomasson but that feel good factor has disappeared a little now. They do, however, still have better morale than Stoke. For different reasons, both teams really could do with a win; they should go at it hammer and tong.
To be honest, with the transfer deadline drawing to a close now you can forget conversations about poor form where Blackburn are concerned. The big question on every Rovers' supporters lips is ‘what about Ben Brereton Diaz?'. The Chilean is huge player for Blackburn but reports linking him to a move are gaining traction. His exit would put a real downer on any result Blackburn can get here.
Blackburn Rovers Predicted lineup – Kaminski, Pickering, Phillips, Ayala, Brittain, Buckley, Travis, Edun, Szmodics, Dack, Gallagher
It has been a woeful start for Stoke to this point. With six games now played in all competitions the Potters have managed to serve up just one win whilst losing three, drawing one and exiting the EFL cup to Morecambe on penalties. Can their young talents such as Liam Delap and D'Margio Wright-Phillips deliver them a win?
Stoke City Predicted lineup – Bursik, Taylor, Wilmot, Jagielka, Fosu, Kilkenny, Baker, Smallbone, Delap, Wright-Phillips
