The second round of World Cup in Qatar brings us a few interesting matchups and one of them is the Group F duel between Belgium and Morocco, scheduled for Sunday, November 27th. Here's our preview of the game and some free betting tips for you.

Belgium vs Morocco World Cup 2022 Prediction

Belgium might have won their opening game against Canada but it wasn't impressive and De Bruyne and co will have to up their game against a lively Morocco side. The North Africans secured an impressive point against Croatia and on another day, they might have won the game.

Morocco Double Chance

Although it was a long time ago now, Morocco actually won their last encounter with Belgium 4-1 and we're backing the African side to secure at least a point on matchday 2. Belgium have lost two of their last three matches in all competitions which include their last game against an African side, Egypt.

A distinct lack of pace in the Belgium defence and midfield hindered Martinez's side and he will have to address that ahead of the Morocco game or risk being overrun just as they were against Canada. Morocco are unbeaten in their last six international matches and look full of confidence right now.

Under 2.5 Goals

We're not expecting many goals in this game as Belgium really miss Lukaku up-front and struggled to create clear-cut chances against Canada, while Morocco failed to score against Croatia but came close on several occasions.

Under 2.5 goals have been produced in three of Belgium's and three of Morocco's last five outings in all competitions, adding plenty of weight to our prediction ahead of this exciting game.

After finishing the first round with a win over Canada, Belgium is the only team with three points in Group F. However, Morocco also did well to draw against Croatia and they are a tough team to beat. So, let's take a a closer look at the average odds for this match:

  • Belgium odds: 11/10 (2.10)
  • Draw odds: 5/2 (3.50)
  • Morocco odds: 3/1 (4.00)

As we can see from the odds, Belgium is the favourite to win the match, but we were actually expecting them to be favoured more. These odds indicate a win probability of 47.6%. Meanwhile, Morocco has a win probability of 25%, which is pretty ok for an outsider. Lastly, the probability of this match ending without a winner is 28.6%.

When it comes to goals, the bookies don't expect to see many, although it's clear from the average odds that things could go either way. For example, the average odds on under 2.5 total goals are 8/11 (1.73), which implies a 57.9% probability. So, that's expected, but the match going over 2.5 goals wouldn't be a huge surprise with average odds of 5/4 (2.25) and probability of 44.4%.

Morocco looking to pull off another World Cup shock

Belgium

Belgium did manage to get off to a winning start to the group stage as most predicted but they were lucky to secure all 3pts against Canada. The North Americans created a lot of chances but were massively let down by their inability to finish, David being one of the most guilty parties. However, a goal from Batshuayi proved enough to win the game in the end but Martinez has lots of thinking to do ahead of the Morocco game as he can't afford to play the same starting eleven which is clearly suffering from a lack of mobility in the heart of the team. Lukaku remains questionable for this match as well.

Belgium Predicted Lineup:

Courtois – Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Dendoncker – Meunier, Onana, Witsel, Carrasco – De Bruyne, E. Hazard – Batshuayi

Morocco

Morocco weren't expected to take anything from their opening game against Croatia but they matched their European opponents in all departments and came close to securing all 3pts. Both teams had chances to score but a point was a fair result in the end. Morocco will have been pleased by what they saw in the Belgium vs Canada game and will feel that they can cause an upset on matchday 2. Morocoo has no injury concerns right now.

Morocco Predicted Lineup:

Bounou – Hakimi, Aguerd, Saiss, Mazraoui – Ounahi, Amrabat, Amallah – Ziyech, En-Nesyri, Boufal
