Arsenal transfer rumours: Olise and Isak in sensational double swoop

The latest Arsenal transfer rumours suggest the Gunners could make a sensational double swoop for Crystal Palace's Michael Olise and Newcastle United's Alexander Isak this summer.

That is according to The Guardian, who state Arsenal are searching for a winger and striker.

Isak is thought to be a primary target and could cost around £100m, the same as another reported target from Newcastle in Bruno Guimaraes, while Olise has a £65m release clause.

The Gunners are set to be given a similar budget to last summer, where they spent in excess of £200m, so both players could be within reach.

Arsenal transfer rumours: Olise and Isak could transform attack

Arsenal have failed to score in their last two defeats to Aston Villa and Bayern Munich, which have cost them dearly in their pursuit of major silverware.

The Villa loss means the Premier League title is no longer in their hands, while Mikel Arteta's side are out of the UEFA Champions League after losing to Bayern.

Arsenal are the second-highest scorers in the league with 75 goals, but they have had a purple patch this year, scoring five or more goals against Burnley, Crystal Palace, Sheffield United, and West Ham United.

They also drew a blank against the latter at home, and lost 1-0 away to Villa and Newcastle United earlier in the season.

Isak would certainly provide the cutting edge they lack, boasting 17 league goals already this season, while Olise would offer an extra creative spark with nine goal contributions in an injury-hit campaign.

The Frenchman would also provide cover for the overworked Bukayo Saka, while Isak offers a pacier alternative to Kai Havertz.

Nonetheless, both have bundles of Premier League experience already and at just 24 and 22 years old, respectively, Isak and Olise could reach their full potential at the Emirates Stadium.
