Aleksandar Mitrović Al Hilal Transfer: What’s the latest?

Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrović has been the subject of intense transfer interest from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, and the player himself was angry that two initial bids were rejected, according to Sky Sports. However, the Premier League side are bracing themselves for a third offer.

Mitrović did travel with the rest of the Fulham squad on their USA pre-season tour on the advice of his agent, but was not selected for the 3-2 victory over Brentford in their opening Premier League Summer Series fixture. The Serbian international however has his heart set on leaving the club.

In fact, Mitrović supposedly told relatives that he would never play for the club again, and Football Insider believes that Fulham are now starting to accept that their star man is primed to leave before the start of the season. Al Hilal is set to produce an offer in the region of £50million.

With news that Fulham are set to sign another striker in the form of Wolverhampton Wanderers' Raúl Jiménez for a £5.5million fee, it could be viewed as a potential Mitrović replacement at Craven Cottage. Both offer similar qualities, but the Mexican international hasn't reached the kind of level he produced before his fractured skull injury in 2020.

Fulham boss Marco Silva, who himself recently turned down a managerial move to Saudi Arabia, recently confirmed to Sky Sports that this transfer saga with Mitrović is ‘not the ideal situation'. The player is training by himself away from the rest of the Fulham squad, and remains fully set on forcing a move away if he has to. He has been unhappy about the £52million valuation placed upon him by Fulham.

With Al-Hilal now set to produce an offer in the kind of region that Fulham would deem acceptable, it would appear we are coming to the conclusion of this deal. The big losers in this deal would appear to be Fulham themselves, who although would get a good price for the player, it is something they weren't necessarily expecting this summer.

They are set to lose a player that was responsible for scoring just over 25% of their Premier League goals last season, and whilst no side could ever really be classed as a ‘one-man team', ask any typical football supporter about Fulham and the name Aleksandar Mitrović is never too far away from the conversation. That is soon set to change.

Aleksandar Mitrović Al Hilal Transfer: Is it going to happen?

It would appear that Mitrović is soon set to get his wish and depart for Saudi Arabia. With Al Hilal set to launch a third offer of around £50million, it looks to be a price Fulham deem acceptable. The player himself certainly won't improve his mood if this next bid is turned down. This would be a record fee paid by a Saudi Arabian team, and the latest acquisition to the Roshn Saudi League.
